Coney Island- Sunlite Water Adventure

We finally made it to Coney Island and enjoyed the cool pool on a hot July afternoon with friends. Coney Island offers discounted ticket prices after 4pm. This is perfect for us since Samuel typically naps until 3/3:30.

I bought our tickets in advance online and did have to pay an online processing fee. Tickets are cheaper online, but with the processing fee you only end up saving around $2. It did allow us to go straight to the gate though instead of having to purchase tickets there. We took a beach bag in with some snacks and waters, but since we are not season pass holders we could not bring in a cooler or outside food.

Our friends had found an umbrella spot near the Hometown Favorites dining area and the deep end of the pool. It was also near the splashground and floating obstacle course. This was nice to be out of the shade and there were several chairs here as well. Plus, the umbrella was close to the area we were at in the pool so we could keep an eye on our belongings. It was also near the restroom.

Samuel stayed on the edge of the pool for a bit and played with his truck. Once he was a little more comfortable he was swimming out further and further. The pool is nice because the area we were in was about a foot deep so it allowed him to stand and play at the edge of the pool or swim out further if he wanted.

We ordered food from the Hometown Favorites. I had a small LaRosa's pizza, Samuel had two Skyline Coneys, and Bryant had the Montgomery Inn BBQ sandwich. We did not buy it, but you could purchase a cup for $9.99 and get free refills all summer long for $.99. This would be a good deal if you had a season pass.

We ate dinner under our umbrella area and afterward got back in the pool. Samuel loved swimming and floating on a floatie. He also checked out the splashground area called Typhoon Tower. He climbed up it with Bryant and even when down the slide all by himself!

Samuel was sad to leave and we had so much fun! It was a great way to spend our afternoon and evening since it was so hot outside. I think being there from 4pm-8pm was the perfect amount of time for our family. There is so much to do here and we might try to go one more time this summer.
