Great Parks of Hamilton County has over 15 parks in the Cincinnati area. This is nice because you can purchase an annual motor vehicle permit that is valid at any of these parks. It cost us $16 for the year or you can purchase a day pass for $8. This was the rate for non Hamilton County residents. If you live in Hamilton County it is $10 for the year and $5 for the day. We received a sticker that we could display on the car for future entry, but we just placed ours in our glove box to show in the future.
My husband spent a lot of time at this park conditioning for cross country and playing Frisbee golf with his friends. He even brought me here a few years ago to play a round of Frisbee golf with friends so it is neat to come back with Samuel and share this park with him. There are also nature trails, a gift shop, a nature center, a golf course, and a boat launch ramp to the Ohio River.
We parked near the Breezy Point area because there is a great playground. We arrived around 10 and played here for about an hour. It is setup like 2 different levels and you can get to the lower level by sliding down the slides or climbing down the stairs. Samuel loved playing here and some of the musical features that are there as well.
A little before 11 we went to the car to reapply sunscreen and change into swim gear. We walked to the Breezy Point entrance and purchased a ticket for $6 to Parky's Wetland Adventure playground. Adults do not have to pay for entry. You can also purchase ice cream, snacks, drinks, and lunch items here. Breezy Point is open from 11-7 from May 28 to August 14 in 2022.
The water area has a nice design to it and overlooks the Ohio River. There are large umbrellas over the edges with benches for seating and a break in the shade. There is also an area for younger children ages 2-5 that had smaller water features like small fountains and an alligator.
The larger play area had two different slides. I really liked that the slide features had turf around them because those slides were fast! This allowed them to land without getting hurt. There were other water features like birds, owls, fountains, and beavers that you could control where their water would spray.
There was also a large, wide step area where a lot of families put their stuff or sat while the kids were playing in the water features. There was also a nice shaded picnic table area where you could enjoy lunch or a snack. There were restrooms and changing rooms inside the water area as well.
After working up a sweat while playing it was nice to cool off in this water feature and enjoy some ice cream too! We shared a chocolate and vanilla twist cone with sprinkles for $2. It was delicious! We will definitely back to enjoy this park- what a great day in Cincinnati.
